Mesologi

Our excursion to Mesologi offers campers a chance to explore a town rich in history and natural beauty. Known for its role in the Greek War of Independence, Mesologi is a place where history comes alive.

Campers will visit the Garden of Heroes, a memorial park honoring those who fought for freedom, and learn about the town's historic siege.

Beyond its historical significance, Mesologi is also famous for its stunning lagoon and the high-quality salt produced from its salt flats. This visit provides a wonderful blend of educational history and appreciation for Greece’s natural landscapes and local traditions.

"Zelios Gi" Botanical Garden

On the way back from their excursion to Mesologi, students will visit the stunning "Zelios Gi" Botanical Garden, located just five minutes from the Rio-Antirio Bridge. Set in the beautiful landscape of Chalkia, this 100-acre paradise is home to over 3,500 plant species, spread across six thematic gardens. Campers will get to explore aromatic, medicinal, and rare herbs native to Greece, while learning about their history and uses.

The visit also offers hands-on experiences such as planting activities and a chance to admire the garden's resident deer. It's a peaceful and educational stop that enriches the camp experience with a deeper connection to nature.
